HART is a new concept in property management systems (PMS). Its main feature is
an integration level which allows the entire hotel operation to use a single
product maximising human efficiency.
All information is stored in a central SQL database. This means that information
is entered once and shared by all users. There are no interfaces
running between components. This has a dramatic effect on the cost of ownership,
and the complexity of the proposed solution, the simplicity of maintenance and
the productivity of personnel.
Training is simplified thanks to the uniform interface that runs across the
entire application. Application usage is the same in all modules, and
cross-departmental training is feasible minimising the amount of time needed
to adopt the solution while bringing down cost and maximising synergies between
departments. Web based training is also available at a fraction of the service cost.
Another major design advantage is the implementation of the 360-degree guest
profile; in this implementation all guest activity with the hotel (room stays,
restaurant consumptions, spa treatments, golf times, membership activities etc.)
is viewed via a single screen. The user benefits by accessing information from
one place, without the need jump between screens and combine data by hand. This
minimises the time needed to process the information and leads to a positive
guest experience, as it translates to immediate guest recognition which is a
vital element of quality hospitality service.
The application can be distributed via an online method, downloaded from the
company’s website. The service of onsite installation is also on offer through
business partners. Customers have options according to their budget and
infrastructure.
